NO LONGER AN ASSET

Santee Cooper’s record of mismanagement has been reported for years. Their track record is one of mismanagement that hurts Gullah/African American families and our environment. The state-owned utility has been uncooperative, manipulative, deceitful, lacking in diversity and inclusion and continues to rely heavily on costly, dirty, coal-fired electricity generation.

The issue is so important that the Leadership Institute’s parent organization, Gullah Geechee Chamber of Commerce, has partnered with the South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce to create a record of how the state-owned utility has betrayed the state, called “Not an Asset:  How Santee Cooper is Failing South Carolina.”
